Tyumen Region and the Republic of Belarus discussed prospects for cooperation

This week, on July 30, 2020, a meeting of the working group on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Tyumen region was held.

According to the Deputy Minister of Energy of Belarus Vadim Zakrevsky, among all the regions of Russia with which the Republic of Belarus cooperates, the Tyumen region (including the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug) takes the first position in terms of trade turnover. He also announced his readiness to meet the needs of the Tyumen region in freight, agricultural, road construction and communal equipment, dwelled on the possibility of increasing the supply of passenger transport to the region, taking into account the financial lending and export support programs that exist both in Belarus and in Russia.
Deputy Governor of the Tyumen Region Andrey Panteleev drew attention to the possibility of creating an assembly plant for special equipment in the region using the basic components of Belarusian enterprises, as well as organizing a joint venture in the light industry. In addition, he spoke about the development of options for interaction between the parties in the field of IT technologies.
Cooperation between the Tyumen region and the Republic of Belarus continues to develop within the framework of the Russian national project “International cooperation and export”.
