Tyumen Region Governor Signs Cooperation Agreements with Two Regions of Kazakhstan
13 November 2018
Cooperation agreements between the Tyumen region, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan were signed by the head of the region Alexander Moor at the XV Forum of interregional cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, which took place on November 8-9 in Petropavlovsk.

Tyumen and Pavlodar regions are very similar and have a very serious industrial potential. More than 50 percent of the gross regional product of Pavlodar region is formed by industry. On the territory of this region there are deposits of rubble, which can be used for the construction of roads in the Tyumen region. The agreement, which we signed with the akim of Pavlodar region within the framework of the Russian-Kazakhstan forum, covers a wide range of areas of mutually beneficial cooperation. We also discussed a number of specific joint projects, the governor said.

Alexander Moor noted that Pavlodar region shows a serious interest in participating in the supply of products for oil and gas companies operating in the territory of a large Tyumen region. We, in turn, are interested in the experience of attracting investments in agriculture accumulated by our Pavlodar partners. I think we will develop cooperation not only in the economic sphere, but also in such areas as education, health care, culture, tourism, he said.

Commenting on the cooperation agreement with the North Kazakhstan region, the governor recalled that this region is an old and reliable partner of the Tyumen region. We would like to expand our cooperation in areas such as medicine, higher education, the introduction of information technology. Kazakhstan is actively implementing a digitalization program, and there are some very interesting developments. One of the most important areas of cooperation is the development of tourism, said Alexander Moor. Tyumen region has something to offer to foreign guests - from educational tourist routes and excursions to fishing, hunting, sanatorium-resort and medical tourism. Regional tourist clusters are also actively developing in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Tourism development has become the main topic of the forum. I was impressed by the speeches of the heads of Kazakhstan regions, who very professionally presented the tourist potential of their territories. I really liked that the development of tourism in Kazakhstan is planned for the long term. We are equally positive about the huge potential for cooperation in this area, the governor stressed.
