Tyumen regions export potential was featured at the Kyrgyz-Russian Business Forum

The Kyrgyz-Russian Business Forum kicked off on 14 September 2018 in the State Residence 1 Ala-Archa in Bishkek, Kyrgyztan. It was made possible thanks to the effort of the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund and the Russian Trade Representation. The aim of the Forum was to make the cooperation between Russian and Kyrgyz companies all the more close, finding new joint industry projects and developing the export potential of the enterprises of both countries. The Forum's panels were dedicated to such industries as mechanical engineering, agriculture, textiles and clothing industry and tourism. A very important part of the Forum was also a series of B2B meetings between Russian and Kyrgyz companies.

The Tyumen region's export potential was showcased at the mechanical engineering panel. Natalya Rakitina, the Head of the Department of External Relations and Control of the Department of Investment Policy and State Support of Entrepreneurship of the Tyumen region, has told the Kyrgyz entrepreneurs about the opportunities for business cooperation with the Tyumen region's companies, as well as about the range of products manufactured in the region. "Tyumenskiy Maschinostroitelniy Zavod" ZAO (Tyumen Machine Building Factory ZAO), a manufacturer of clutch driven disks for heavy and light vehicles, has gained a number of potential partners for future cooperation during this event. The factory's products are already in demand on the CIS and even non-CIS markets. They conform to all the governmental standards and requirements, which is proven by certificates of conformity.

"NG-Grupp" OOO (NG-Group OOO), a Tyumen-based company manufacturing various types of plastic packaging, used the opportunity given by this Forum to meet with other businesses regarding the export of their products, paying special attention to dairy manufacturers. The company offered the export of such products as plastic cups of different sizes for sour cream and yogurt packaging, as well as dense plastic wraps for cheese and cottage cheese packaging.

The Forum also had Tyumen representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Export Support Center, "Investment Agency" Fund and various regional manufacturers.

The potential visit of a Kyrgyz delegation to the Tyumen region was discussed as well during the meeting with Eldar Abakirov, the Deputy Minister of the Economy of Kyrgyz Republic. This visit would serve as a means to continue the development of the cooperation between Tyumen and Kyrgyz companies, the foundation of which was laid during this Forum.

According to the data provided by the Ural Customs Administration, the foreign trade turnover of the Tyumen Region with the Kyrgyz Republic amounted to 9829.89 thousand USD, of which export amounted to 9810.65 thousand USD and import to 19.24 thousand USD.

The prevailing types of goods in the export structure are 39 "Plastics and Rubbers", 44 "Wood and wood products; wood charcoal" (Harmonized System codes). The prevailing types of goods in the import structure are 20 "Preparations of vegetables, fruit, nuts or other parts of plants", 08 "Fruit and nuts, edible; peel of citrus fruits or melon" (Harmonized System codes).
