The governor of the Tyumen region, Vladimir Yakushev, met with Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Toyohisa Kozuka, who arrived in Tyumen at the head of the delegation of the business circles of the country of the rising sun.

The governor thanked the ambassador for his interest in the region and recalled that the first time a delegation from Japan visited the Tyumen region four years ago - in 2013.

"We are actively moving from the point of view of development of investments and volumes of industry, in social infrastructure, in the issue of health care, and we are developing public-private partnership. I believe that the future is for investments, without them no territory can develop. Everything that depends on us, we try to do, and in all municipalities without exception, "said Vladimir Yakushev and, as an example, told Toyohisa Kozuki about opening a turkey farm in the Yurginsky district, which gave the region several hundred new jobs.

The governor noted that the visit of the Japanese delegation to the Tyumen region is viewed as a new stage of systematic and systematic work to expand bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of engineering, petrochemistry, IT, medicine and pharmaceutics, tourism and education. One of the highlights in the cultural life of the region, according to Vladimir Yakushev, can be the Days of Japanese Culture in Tyumen in 2018.

Within the framework of the visit of the Japanese delegation on October 11-13, 2017, they meet with representatives of official and business circles of the Tyumen region, visit industrial enterprises of the region: Sibur Tobolsk LLC, Antipinsky Refinery and UMMC-Steel LLC, Tyumen and Tobolsk.

During the meeting in the West-Siberian Innovation Center, the parties discussed mutual interests in the energy, innovation and other sectors of the economy.

Recall that in April 2017, a delegation of the Tyumen region participated in a trip of members of the Association of Industrial Parks in Japan, where potential Japanese partners were told about the prospects for cooperation and localization of production in the region.

In July, Executive Director of the Japan-Russian Fund for Medical Exchanges AkiraSakay came to Tyumen with a working visit. He held talks with the leadership of the regional health department.
