Korean diplomats became readers of the Tyumen Regional Library

Delegation of the Embassy of the Republic Korea in Russia visited Tyumen.
Prospects for cooperation in the field of culture began to discuss in the Tyumen Drama Theatre. Copies of photographs, dedicated to the life and activities of Savva Mamontov and people, who surrounded him at different periods of life, aroused the big interest.
The delegation of the Embassy of the Republic Korea visited reading rooms of the Tyumen Regional Scientific Library named in honor of DI Mendeleev. The delegation saw a rare book fund, with about 30 thousand copies, the earliest of which dated the XVII century. Library staff told about the features of the translation of these publications in the electronic format, about the organization of access to the literature of a wide range of readers from all over the country. After inspecting the library’s storage, members of the delegation received electronic library cards and saw the capabilities of modern technical equipment library rooms.
At a meeting with members of the delegation, the director of the Department of Culture of the Tyumen region Julia Shakurskaya outlined the main directions of further mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of Culture between the Republic Korea and the Tyumen region. Among them - holding photo exhibitions and art exhibitions, concerts and theatre performances. Julia Shakurskaya also noted that in Tyumen is possible to organize a tour of theatre and philharmonic bands from the Republic Korea. Members of the delegation expressed their interest not only in the organization of tours Tyumen artists in their country, but also promised to direct some editions of books in Korean in the funds of Tyumen library in the near future.
On a recognition of the representatives of the Embassy of the Republic Korea, they liked the presentation of tourist potential of the Tyumen region, and confirmed it with a loud applause at the end of the excursion program.
