The Tyumen region Governor meets the Baker Hughes management
10 August 2011Tyumen region Governor Vladimir Yakushev convened a meeting with Dmitry Kouzovenkov, the Russia and CIS President of Baker Hughes. The regional head and the company manager discussed a set of questions concerning a new cable production in Tyumen.
Particularly there were raised questions of better transport infrastructure for would-be production, of involving local and foreign specialists, of providing state support to the company. Baker Hughes (the third world service company) got interested in opening a production in Tyumen back in 2006. The newest technologies are used for the production.
At the meeting Dmitry Kouzovenkov informed the Governor that among the suggested construction sites the company picked the foundry shop of JSC “Tyumenskie Motorostroiteli”, and also told about some features of this Tyumen project.
According to him, this plant is going to be unique, with an analogue existing only in Oklahoma, the USA. The project will result in more than 250 jobs. The company can start production already at the beginning of 2013.
The Governor Vladimir Yakushev expressed support to the Baker Hughes project from the regional government and suggested to review a project of a training center of the company in the region. At the moment there are two functioning training centers of Baker Hughes – one in the USA, the other in UAE, Dubai. “A training center of this kind in the capital of West Siberia will serve not only as a resource for personnel issues, but also will provide for improving professional skills of the plant employees on-the-spot”, the head of the region is convinced.
Summarizing the meeting, the Baker Hughes President Dmitry Kouzovenkov noted that this kind of support from the government makes it possible to be more confident about the practical stage of the project.
The Department on investment policy and state support of entrepreneurship being an authorized body of the regional government provides administrative support of the project during all the time of its activity.
