Austria confirmed its interest in cooperation with the Tyumen region

The work of the Austrian Economic Mission has been completed.
The event was held online on December 1-3, 2021 at the initiative of the Austrian Embassy in Moscow.
The economic mission was opened by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Werner Almhofer, Secretary General of the Chamber of Economics Karlheinz Kopf, Trade Adviser of the Austrian Embassy in Moscow Rudolf Lukavsky,
Representatives of government and business of the Tyumen region took an active part in the three-day program.
Welcoming the participants of the economic mission, Deputy Governor of the Tyumen Region Andrey Panteleev drew attention to the fact that cooperation between the Tyumen Region and the Republic of Austria began almost 30 years ago. "Today the prospects for our cooperation are much higher.
We are interested in joint high-tech production and green projects that perfectly fit into the investment development program of the region and those areas that we plan to develop in the near future: oil and gas engineering and service, petrochemistry, wood processing, biotechnology in the agro-industrial complex, medical and Wellness tourism",- noted the deputy governor.
During the event, the main economic achievements of the region, investment and tourism potential were presented.
Leading Austrian companies in the industries of energy and heat supply, agriculture, food processing, timber industry and tourism expressed interest in cooperation with the Tyumen region. The discussion of the formats and prospects of the Tyumen-Austrian cooperation took place within the framework of B2B negotiations, which were attended by representatives of more than 20 Tyumen companies.
According to the results of the economic mission, the possibility of creating joint projects in the field of tourism, woodworking, and the production of medical oxygen is being considered.
The meetings held during the economic mission showed that the Austrian side sees prospects in working with the Tyumen region and would like to visit the region as soon as the epidemiological situation allows in order to get acquainted with the potential of the region offline, assess the prospects for localization of production, swim in hot mineral springs and see the Pearl of Siberia — Tobolsk.
