Tyumen region and the Republic of Kazakhstan expand cooperation

Round table on the topic “Trade and economic cooperation of the Tyumen region and the Republic of Kazakhstan. Development Prospects ”took place on April 15, 2021.
The event was organized by the Government of the Tyumen Region on the initiative of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Tyumen Vladislav Kvasov and the Chairman of the Regional National-Cultural Autonomy of Kazakhs Esengali Ibrayev.
The purpose of the meeting: expansion of bilateral cooperation. The dialogue was held in an online format, it was attended by representatives of government authorities, diplomatic structures and business of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Tyumen region.
Opening the round table, Anton Mashukov, Director of the Department of Investment Policy and State Support of Entrepreneurship of the Region, emphasized that the Republic of Kazakhstan is a long-standing reliable partner of the Tyumen Region, and even in the difficult 2020, foreign trade turnover with Kazakhstan increased by almost 5 million US dollars and amounted to 70 million US dollars. (export - 50.9 million US dollars, imports - 18.9 million US dollars).
In his speech, Anton Mashukov outlined the main directions for the development of the region, the prospects for the participation of Kazakhstani companies in the oil and gas cluster.
Ambassador Counselor of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Russia Nurzhan Kadzhiakbarov during his speech noted the important place of the Tyumen region in the system of trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and Russia, presented the investment and export potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The parties discussed the possibilities of expanding the export-import line of the Tyumen region and the Republic of Kazakhstan, reached agreements on promoting the strengthening of partnerships between entrepreneurs.
On the sidelines of the round table, bilateral negotiations in the B2B format between Kazakhstani and Tyumen oil and gas entrepreneurs were also held. More than 40 representatives of business circles from two countries took part in the event.
