The first pellets of the products were obtained at the polypropylene installation of the ZapSibNeftekhim complex, reports the Tyumenskaya Line news agency, citing the press service of SIBUR.

Progress in the construction of a polypropylene plant under construction for the deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials reached 99.8%. At the technological installation, construction and installation works are completed, and in the active phase, commissioning works are completed. In particular, functional tests of systems are being conducted, and safety systems are being tested.

As part of the commissioning works in the test mode, the first polypropylene granules from imported raw materials were obtained. The technology allows to produce all types of polypropylene, presented in all market segments.

We have so far received only the first tons of polypropylene, as part of testing equipment, said Andrei Germashev, director for production of Zapibneftekhim, but the achievement of this milestone confirms the efficiency of equipment with a total capacity of 500 thousand tons of polypropylene per year.

After the launch of ZapSibNeftekhim, the total volume of polypropylene produced at the Tobolsk enterprises of SIBUR, including the existing polymer production of SIBUR Tobolsk, will be 1 million tons of polypropylene per year. This is the largest power in Russia and one of the largest in the world.

Polypropylene produced at the plant will serve as raw material for the production of a wide range of polymer products from medical products and personal care products to geotextiles, pipes for hot water, packaging and packaging.

In general, ZapSibNeftohim products will play an important role in replacing the existing imports of polymers mainly from China and Europe, allowing replacing from 85% to 95% of imported products for different products.
