On the visit by the EURASEC in Tyumen
2 August 2009From 28 to 31 Jul, 2009 Adviser visited the Eurasian Economic Community in Tyumen. The main purpose of the visit was to discuss possible options for project construction in the Tumen area of international logistics center Eurasec.
The Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) - an international economic organization, which has functions related to the formation of common customs borders of its member countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan), the elaboration of unified foreign economic policies, tariffs, prices and other components of the operation common market. Eurasian Economic Community was established for the effective promotion of the formation of States parties to the Customs Union, single economic space, coordinate their approaches to integration into the global economy and international trading system.
In January 2009, the heads of governments of EurAsEC member states was adopted «The concept of a single EurAsEC transport space». Planned to implement several investment projects, including the establishment of an integrated transport and logistics system. Until 2020, the concept provides for the establishment of the Tyumen area of international logistics center.
At the end of June 2009 the Council for Transport Policy in the Integration Committee of Eurasian Economic Community was adopted on a draft model of international transportation and logistics center.
International logistics center to be located on the route and ensure Eurasec transport and transshipment of goods between member countries of the Community and the transit traffic through the area of customs union.
Through the territory of the area are the most important highways associated with the route of EurAsEC, which is near the area of interest to have an international logistics center. The Tyumen region has strong trade and economic relations with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Community and the regions of Russia, which planned the establishment of international logistics centers, and takes a significant amount of goods from these areas.
During the working meetings of the Department of Investment Policy and State Support of Entrepreneurship of Tyumen region were identified prospects for the project in Tyumen and possible options for its implementation. Conducted with the companies the city of Tyumen negotiations showed that the business community was also interested in business development of this format.
