Cooperation with Hungary
According to the Ural Customs Administration, mutual trade between the Tyumen region and Hungary in 2019 is $ 5,471.98 thousand , of which import is $ 2,947.91 thousand , and export is $ 2,524.07 thousand.
For reference: in 2018, the foreign trade turnover of the Tyumen region with Hungary amounted to 13,864.25 thousand US dollars, of which import –368.51 thousand US dollars, export –13,477.74 thousand US dollars.
The predominant product groups in the export structure are: 39 group of foreign trade activities “Polymers of propylene”, 44 group of foreign trade activities “Wood and products from it”; In the import structure, the main share falls on the 85th group of foreign economic activity FEA “Electrical machines and equipment, their parts”.
Chronology of visits
On May 23-24, 2006, a delegation of Hungary headed by the representative of the Government of the Republic of Hungary for the Development of Economic Relations with the CIS Countries, Secretary of State for Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of Economy and Transport Gyorgy Gilian paid a visit to the Tyumen Region.
During the visit, a meeting of the Hungarian delegation with the Governor of the Tyumen region V.V. Yakushev. The meeting presented projects for the modernization of public utilities using effective energy-saving technologies and housing construction. Also, the official delegation of the Republic of Hungary took part in the Russian-Hungarian business forum in Tyumen, held talks with the head of the Yalutorovsky district M.E. Sharashin on the use of the capacities of one of the engineering enterprises under the Ikarus bus repair base, as well as on the creation of a joint enterprise for goose breeding.
Tyumen-Hungarian relations developed especially actively after November 2013, when Sandor Mollari took the post of Consul General of Hungary in Yekaterinburg.
The first visit of the Hungarian side to the Tyumen region after 2006 took place on November 13-14, 2013. The Consul General of Hungary in Yekaterinburg, Sandor Molnari, and the Consul for Foreign Economic Relations Tamas Varga visited the Tyumen region in order to get acquainted with the leadership of state authorities, discuss opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation, develop and strengthen trade, economic and cultural ties between the Tyumen region and Hungary. Within the framework of the visit, promising areas of cooperation in several areas were discussed with the leadership of the region and the city - agriculture, social and transport infrastructure, the oil and gas industry, and tourism. The Governor noted that Hungary is traditionally a territory where there are many interesting technologies in various sectors of the economy and there are prospects for closer mutually beneficial cooperation.
Sandor Molnari visited the Tyumen Technopark, met with its leader A.V. Sakevich, as well as with residents of the business incubator: LLC Biovek, LLC Chrisaf, and the Research Institute of Ecology and Rational Use of Natural Resources; visited the Tyumen Regional Scientific Library. DI. Mendeleev; held negotiations with the vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Tyumen region A.V. Schneidmüller; visited the exhibition of achievements of the regional agro-industrial complex “Golden Autumn - 2013” in the Tyumen exhibition hall.
During the visit, the Consul General of Hungary in Yekaterinburg, Sandor Molnari, noted that Hungarian companies find the Tyumen region attractive for investment and plan to strengthen cooperation in the field of housing and communal services and agriculture. The Tyumen side reacted with interest to the proposals of Hungarian diplomats on the modernization of farming, the processing of agricultural products, the introduction of automation systems, water treatment.
On December 19, 2013, with the aim of expanding economic ties in the agricultural sector, the Tyumen region was visited by a Hungarian delegation led by the Consul of Hungary in Yekaterinburg Tamas Varga. The rest of the delegation: Sylard Kish - Special Commissioner of the Minister for Rural Development of Hungary for CIS; Chaba Tarshoi - owner of Questor, director of the Hungarian Trading House; Laszlo Bushtyahazai is the CEO of the UBM group of companies.
During the visit, the Hungarian delegation visited one of the leading agricultural enterprises of the Tyumen region - Borovskaya Poultry Farm OJSC, where they discussed the prospects for the development of agricultural enterprises in Russia and the EEC, options for possible mutually beneficial cooperation in the framework of the planned large-scale reconstruction of the poultry farm; and one of the enterprises of Fatum CJSC is the Absolut bakery. During a visit to the Tyumen city administration, a round table discussion was held on “Prospects for cooperation between the Tyumen region and Hungary in the agricultural sector” with the participation of Tyumen enterprises LLC TPK Yagody Plus, OJSC Tyumen Bakery, LLC KMP Myasnaya Skazka, CJSC Osnova Holding ", LLC Tyumenmoloko.The organizers of the round table were the administration of the city of Tyumen and the Department of investment policy and state support of entrepreneurship of the Tyumen region.
On January 28-29, 2014, the Consul General of Hungary in Yekaterinburg, Sandor Molnari, visited the Tyumen Region, Tyumen, and took part in the First Tyumen Investment Forum “Investments and Industrialization”. Also, a meeting was organized for Mr. Molnari with the Deputy Governor, Director of the Department of Investment Policy and State Support of Entrepreneurship of the Tyumen Region V.M. Shumkov.
3-7 March 2014 visit of the official delegation of the city of Tyumen in Hungary. The delegation included representatives of the Administration of the city of Tyumen and enterprises of the city of Tyumen (Arsib Holding, Tyumen Bakery, OJSC, Benat OJSC, IP Bogdanov AK). Tyumen entrepreneurs got acquainted with the Hungarian food and processing industries, discussed the possibility of opening production lines together with these companies in Tyumen. The Hungarian side expressed its readiness to come to Tyumen to familiarize themselves with the potential site for the organization of production, as well as to issue technological consultations.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the possibility of exporting products of Tyumen enterprises and selling them through Hungarian trading networks (as well as importing Hungarian goods and selling them through Tyumen trading networks). The basic principle of cooperation: goods from different countries should not enter into direct competition. The Hungarian side offered wines, delicacies, luxury goods, natural juices, cheeses of the luxury category or according to unique recipes. Some of the Hungarian manufacturers expressed their willingness to consider opening their production facilities in Tyumen.
During the visit, the delegation of the city of Tyumen managed to establish official contacts with the city hall of Gyor for a possible conclusion of a twinning agreement.
The Tyumen delegation was introduced to the experience of Hungary in addressing such technical issues as the purification of drinking water extracted from surface sources; organization of cogeneration based on a gas turbine plant. Negotiations were held with Aquaprofit, which has experience in implementing projects in 850 municipalities, as well as experience in implementing mega-projects such as the Danube water treatment project. The Hungarian company expressed its readiness to develop technological solutions for Tyumen to treat drinking water, to develop a water supply and sanitation scheme (including stormwater).
On June 16-17, 2014, the Hungarian delegation headed by the Honorary President of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Imre Tot and the Consul General of Hungary in Yekaterinburg Sandor Mollari paid a visit to the Tyumen Region. The organizers of the visit: Government of the Tyumen Region, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Tyumen Region, Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This time, the Hungarian delegation was represented by the largest Hungarian companies - in the construction and reconstruction of fuel and energy complex facilities, waste recycling plants, in the production of innovative technologies in the agricultural sector, in the architectural design of commercial and residential buildings, in the production of floor coverings, medical devices and others. Only 19 companies.
Within the framework of the visit, an exchange of contacts "Prospects for Cooperation between the Tyumen Region and Hungary" was held with the participation of Tyumen and Hungarian entrepreneurs. Then, the Hungarian delegation visited the West Siberian Innovation Center (Tyumen Technopark), where a meeting was held with the leaders of small and medium enterprises implementing innovative projects and introducing technological innovations in various sectors of the economy. At a meeting with the leadership of the administration of the city of Tyumen, a constructive dialogue was held on the issue of cooperation in several areas: diplomatic, economic, as well as in the field of social projects and the field of urban development.
On June 17, 2014, the members of the Hungarian delegation visited the city of Yalutorovsk at the Porevit plant, a modern enterprise for the production of autoclaved aerated concrete, silicate brick and silicate wall blocks in the Ural-West Siberian region; visited the Metelevsky water intake of LLC Tyumen Vodokanal; met with the deputy governor, director of the department of agro-industrial complex of the Tyumen region V.N. Cheymetov, with the head of the Central Administration of the Tyumen Region S.V. Shustov.
On December 9-11, 2014, small and medium-sized enterprises of the Tyumen region took part in a business mission to Budapest (Hungary). During the visit, entrepreneurs from Tyumen visited the sites such as “4Seasons”, Tauro-TradeKft, CserpesIstván, és a CserpesSajtműhely, DanubiusHealthSpaResortHévíz, 4 *, Bos-GeneticKft, Àquincum, Agrota Neurology, National Institute of Clinics during the visit Hungarian workers and others. Official meetings were also held at the Hungarian National Trade House, where the parties exchanged views on issues and the implementation of possible joint investment projects.
February 18, 2015 as part of the II Tyumen Investment Forum “Investments. Industrialization. Regions. Logic of a Breakthrough ”Tyumen was visited by Sandor Molnari, Consul General of the Republic of Hungary in Yekaterinburg. He took part in the round table “Interaction with Foreign Investors: New Opportunities for Cooperation and Risks in the Current Economic Conditions”, which discussed current economic problems and prospects for further cooperation.
December 9-13, 2015, the visit of the General Consul of Hungary to Yekaterinburg Sergey Syuch to Tyumen Oblast, accompanied by the Consul of the Consulate General of Hungary in Yekaterinburg Pal Fabian.
Hungarian diplomats visited the Tyumen region in order to get acquainted with the leadership of the Government of the Tyumen region, discuss opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation, develop and strengthen trade, economic and cultural ties.
During the visit, meetings were held with the Governor of the Tyumen Region V.V. Yakushev, Deputy Governor of the Tyumen Region V.M. Shumkov, Deputy Head of the city administration A. Tyumen Shpirenko, the Head of the city of Tobolsk V.V. Mazur, the leadership of the Department of agro-industrial complex of the Tyumen region, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Tyumen region, Tyumen State University.
During negotiations with the regional and city leaders, promising areas for cooperation were outlined. In particular, the Consul General proposed the participation of the Hungarian business in the modernization of water supply and sanitation (a similar project is being implemented in Yekaterinburg) and city lighting in the Tyumen region, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, the construction of shopping centers, hotels, and residential complexes. The regional authorities were particularly interested in the prospects for joint construction of greenhouse farms with Hungarian companies.
Representatives of the Consulate General of Hungary visited the West Siberian Innovation Center (Tyumen Technopark) and discussed issues of further cooperation with the leadership of the center, with the leaders of small and medium-sized enterprises implementing innovative projects and introducing technological innovations in the oil and gas, medical fields, as well as dealing with environmental issues and resource saving.
During the visit, meetings were held: with the Chairman of the Board of the Regional Association of Tyumen Tourism Organizations N.V. Chagina on the issues of obtaining a Schengen visa in the city of Tyumen and cooperation in the field of tourism, with representatives of travel companies of the Tyumen region on the topic "Eurotourism: 2015 results and prospects for 2016".
A visit to the Tyumen Regional Scientific Library named after D.I. Mendeleev, rare book room of Tyumen State University, Tyumen regional museum of local lore "City Duma", a tour of the historic sites of the city of Tyumen and the city of Tobolsk.
On February 18, 2016, at the invitation of the Hungarian side, representatives of the Tyumen agribusiness took part in the Hungarian-Russian Agricultural Forum, which was held in Budapest.
April 26, 2016 at the Information and Library Center of the Tyumen State University with the support of the Institute. Goethe and the Hungarian Cultural, Scientific and Information Center in Moscow hosted the II Hungarian-German cultural forum “Reflex Semmelweiss”. Representatives of the Consulate General of Hungary in Yekaterinburg, led by Consul General Sergei Syuch, took part in the event. The forum was addressed by the Consul General of Hungary Sergey Syuch, the Consul Jujanna Antzi, as well as the acting Director of the Hungarian Cultural, Scientific and Information Center in Moscow Anita Hedi, in addition to this, meetings were held with the management and students of Tsogu.
On June 4-5, 2016, the representative of the Embassy of Hungary in the Russian Federation, Tourism Advisor Sandor Fabian (Moscow) , visited the Tyumen Region. He visited the I International Festival of Active Leisure, Tourism and Sports “UTKA”, met with representatives of the Department of Investment Policy and State Support of Entrepreneurship of the Tyumen Region: with the head of the Investment Policy Department N.V. Rakitina and the head of the Department of Tourism Development O.P. Buruldaeva. Negotiations were held on issues of mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthening cultural ties, creating joint projects in the tourism sector.
In April 2017, a presentation of the Tyumen region was held at the representative office of the Government of the Tyumen region in Moscow. The event was attended by an attaché for foreign economic relations of the Embassy of Hungary in the Russian Federation Kadar Victoria, a discussion of promising areas of cooperation in the field of agriculture, housing and communal services, the possibility of creating joint production in the region of buses under the Ikarus brand took place.
On July 18-20, 2017, a visit of the Hungarian delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Russian Federation Janos Balla took place.
The purpose of the event is to get acquainted with the investment potential of the region, visit enterprises, meet with officials, and strengthen trade and economic ties.
Members of the delegation: Syuch Sergey - Consul General of Hungary in Yekaterinburg, Fabian Shandor - Tourism Advisor to the Embassy of Hungary in the Russian Federation, Kadar Victoria - Attache for Foreign Economic Relations of the Embassy of Hungary in the Russian Federation, Alexei Kainin - Regional Director of Hunland LLC, Gombaseogi Yanosh - Regional Director of CJSC Budapest Vodokanal.
In accordance with the program of the visit, the participants of the Hungarian delegation visited GAU TO “West Siberian Innovation Center” (Tyumen Technopark), where they met with the general director of JSC “Agency for Infrastructure Development of the Tyumen Region” A.G. Sanosyan, visits to one of the sites of Industrial Parks - "Borovsky".
On July 19, representatives of the Embassy of Hungary took part in the official opening of the Business Russian Language International Summer School of the Tyumen State University. Among the students of the school, the vast majority (16 out of 21) are students from leading universities in Hungary.
At a meeting with the rector of Tyumen State University V.N. Falkov discussed issues of developing partnerships at the Tyumen State University and universities in Hungary. During the meeting, Janos Balla handed the rector an official letter in support of the proposal of the Tyumen State University on the establishment of the Hungarian Cabinet, the cultural, scientific and information center of Hungary at the embassy in the Russian Federation. From the university, the meeting was also attended by the head of the department of international relations, director of the Institute of Philology and Journalism, professor of the department of archeology, history of the ancient world and the Middle Ages, other scientists and specialists.
An expanded meeting was held in the Department of Consumer Market and Tourism of the Tyumen Region with the leadership of the Department and the Chairman of the Council of the Regional Association of Tyumen Tourism Organizations on cooperation in tourism. A presentation of the tourism potential of Hungary was held for regional tour operators.
Meetings were also held: with the Deputy Governor, Director of the Department of Agriculture of the Tyumen Region V.N. Cheymetov, with the Director of the Department of Health of the Tyumen region I. B. Kulikova, Director of the Department of Investment Policy and State Support of Entrepreneurship of the Tyumen Region L.S. Witty.
In accordance with the program of the visit, representatives of the Hungarian delegation visited the State Autonomous Educational Institution “MKMC Medical City”, LLC “Tyumen Vodokanal”. For the representative of the company "Hunland" Alexei Kitain, the program of the visit provided for a meeting with the Head of the Nizhnetavdinsky district V.I. Borisov, a visit and a meeting with the management of LLC PK Moloko. During the visit, a tour of the historical places of the city of Tyumen was organized for the Hungarian delegation.
At an official meeting with the delegation of Hungary, the Governor of the Tyumen region V.V. Yakushev presented the economic indicators of the territory, and also outlined the main areas that may be of interest to both parties:
- Study of the possibility of creating, together with the company "Hunland", a breeding center for breeding Holstein-Friesian breed animals that will be adapted to Siberian climatic conditions,
- Expansion of mutual trade,
- Collaboration in the field of innovation and new technologies,
- Projects in the field of scientific and educational exchanges,
- Participation of Hungarian companies in the implementation of the project “Medical City”.
Commenting on the results of the meeting with the delegation of Hungary, Vladimir Yakushev noted that the region continues to pursue an active investment policy. “A lot of meetings, negotiations allow us to determine common ground, outline real projects that in the future will turn into new industries, jobs, tax sources, and therefore, ensure the development of our economy. We do not divide investors into external and internal, large and small. We are open to cooperation for everyone who is willing to invest in the Tyumen region, ”the governor concluded.
September 24-30, 2018, the delegation of the Tyumen region, headed by the Deputy Governor of the Tyumen region L.Z. Teploukhova took part in the International seminar with a visit to the EuroSkills Budepest 2018 Championship “Advanced technologies of vocational education. Experience of Hungary ”in Budapest (Hungary).
Third-year students of Tyumen State University Diana Kasabova and Vladislav Tetyushkin won gold in the “Network and System Administration” competency. Graduate of the Bricklaying competency was proved by a graduate of the Tyumen Industrial University FSBEI HE “Sergey Tyumen Industrial University”, and Olga Yachmeneva, a student of the GAPOU TO “Tyumen Technical School of the Construction Industry and Urban Economics”, received medals for professionalism in the competence “Painting and Decorative Works” .
On October 29-30, 2019, the Hungarian delegation, led by the Consul General of Hungary in Yekaterinburg Sergey Syuch, visited the Tyumen region in order to expand foreign economic relations and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The delegation included: Attachment for Agriculture and Environmental Protection of the Embassy of Hungary in the Russian Federation Victoria Nabilek-Kanaval; Advisor, Director of the Cultural Center of the Embassy of Hungary in the Russian Federation Anita Hedi; Consul for Trade and Economic Affairs of the Consulate General of Hungary in Yekaterinburg Timea Endreiter; Director of the Yekaterinburg branch of Travel Agency Robinson Tours LLC Julia Dedyukhina; Director of POLUS LLC Christian Horvath; Hunland Regional Director Alexei Kitain.
At a meeting of the Deputy Governor of the Tyumen region L.Z. Teploukhova with the delegation of Hungary presented the investment and industrial potential of the region, noted mutual interest in such areas of humanitarian cooperation as healthcare, medical and educational tourism. There was a discussion of issues of interaction in the field of animal husbandry and waste management. Director of the Department of Subsoil Use and Ecology of the Tyumen Region Zh.S. Zlobina presented to the participants of the Hungarian delegation the transition to a new system of solid municipal waste management in the Tyumen region "
At a meeting in the Department of Consumer Market and Tourism of the Tyumen Region, the parties presented the tourism potential of their regions.
Based on the results of the meetings, agreements were reached to increase foreign trade, cooperation in the field of tourism, utilities, agriculture, in particular livestock, and the implementation of cultural and educational projects.
As part of the joint project of the Tyumen State University and the Hungarian Cultural Center at the Embassy of Hungary in Russia, the Hungarian Cabinet was opened at the Institute of Social and Human Sciences of the Tyumen State University. Sergey Syuch thanked the leadership of Tsogu, assuring that the Hungarian side will provide comprehensive assistance in equipping it with books and teaching aids. In confirmation of his intentions, he donated a new unique edition of the History of Hungarian Regions and Cities to the cabinet.
At the end of the visit in the Museum complex of the Tyumen region. I. Ya. Slovtsov, the grand opening of the exhibition of the famous Hungarian artist Istvan Oros “Illusion in graphics and poster”.
Perspective directions in the development of bilateral foreign economic relations:
- cooperation in the field of agriculture and food industry;
- joint projects in the field of oil and gas engineering, the development of new technologies in the oil and gas sector;
- expansion of mutual trade;
- cooperation in the field of housing and communal services: water supply and sanitation systems in large cities;
- joint projects in the field of health, promoting the establishment of scientific and educational ties.
- exchange of experience on the development of the tourism industry in the Tyumen region using the healing properties of natural mineral springs,
- Organization of joint inter-university educational programs for the training of personnel for the tourism industry,
- Exchange of teachers and students in order to improve skills and education.
