Between the Tyumen region and the Republic of Belarus 2 inter-regional and 7 inter-municipal cooperation agreements were concluded:

- Agreement on the establishment of twinning relations and the strengthening of friendship and cooperation between the city of Ishim (Russian Federation) and the city of Bobruisk (Republic of Belarus) (11/01/2013);

Significant events 2017-2019:

On May 23-25, 2017, Vasily Gennadyevich Kunsky, Counselor for Trade and Economic Affairs of the Branch of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation in the city of Yekaterinburg , visited the Tyumen Region. The Tyumen delegation included representatives of the executive bodies of state power, entrepreneurs in the field of subsoil use, agribusiness, the forest complex, energy, and light industry.

Purpose of the event: Strengthening cooperation with the Republic of Belarus, holding a meeting of the working group on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the Tyumen region and the Republic of Belarus, visiting enterprises, conducting negotiations with representatives of republican ministries, departments and organizations.

The protocol of the joint meeting of the Working Group on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Tyumen Region was signed on September 20, 2017 in Minsk.

The delegation of the Tyumen region visited such well-known Belarusian enterprises as Amkodor OJSC, Minsk Tractor Plant OJSC, Lidsky Peat Briquette Plant, held negotiations on cooperation issues with the leadership of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and Concern Bellegprom ”, Belkoopsoyuz, GPO“ Belenergo ”, GPO“ Beltopgaz ”, considered the possibility of creating joint ventures in the light industry, discussed issues related to logging promotional activities.

The meetings and bilateral negotiations that took place during the visit, as well as the meeting of the Working Group on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Tyumen Region and the Republic of Belarus, served as another step towards strengthening friendly and business relations between Belarus and the Tyumen Region.

On March 29, 2018, the representative of the Research Institute Belgiprotopgaz Chekhovich, Elena Boleslavovna, at the Second Subsoil Users Forum, made a presentation “Trends in the Development of the World Peat Industry. As a result of the meetings, a preliminary agreement was reached on promoting the tourist potential of the Tyumen region on the Internet resources of the Belarusian Association of UNESCO Clubs.

In order to get acquainted with the organization of company trade of Belarusian manufacturers, as well as with the work of retail chains, a visit to the Kommunarka, Karavay and Radzivilovskiy retail chains took place.

On July 16-18, 2019, the delegation of the Tyumen region took part in the VI Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus. Topic: interregional relations as the basis for the formation of a single cultural and humanitarian space of the peoples of the two countries. On October 7-11, 2019, the heads of the Tyumen energy companies LLC NPP Soyuzgaztekhnologiya and LLC West Siberian Group of Companies, headed by the head of the subsoil use department of the Department of Subsoil Use and Ecology of the Tyumen Region, took part in the specialized exhibition of technologies for the petrochemical industry OIL & GAS TECHNOLOGIES, which took place in the Republic of Belarus, Minsk.

On the territory of the Tyumen region, in the city of Tyumen, the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Belarus was opened. In the 2019-2020 academic year, 21 full-time and part-time students from the Republic of Belarus study at universities of the Tyumen region.

The schools of the city of Tyumen together with the CIS countries are implementing a network project called “School diplomacy”, in which students exchange knowledge in various fields, including world-famous historical events.
