In Korea, the Tyumen people held the Day of Russian Culture and established the Eurasian Film Festival Association
Within the framework of the VII GUKIFF International Film Festival, on May 15, the Day of Russian Culture in Korea (Russia DayinKorea) was held in Seoul, co-organized by the Directorate of the International Film Festival "Zero Plus", supported by the Department of Culture of the Tyumen Region, the Russian Embassy in South Korea.
The event was attended by Korean and Russian children and parents, representatives of the Russian-speaking Association in Korea, the Russian Embassy in South Korea, the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, the leadership of the Kurogu District Administration in Seoul, the Administration of Tyumen, international film festival guests. Dance and vocal performances of children's groups, as well as the Vatalinka folk instrument group in Tyumen, screenings of the Russian children's cinema, and the premiere of the novel “The Dreamer” from the cinema-almanac Happiness Is ... Part 2 took place. As noted by local and international guests of the event, the event made a great impression, allowed to get acquainted with the cultural heritage of Russia and contributed to the rapprochement of the two countries - Russia and Korea.
In October 2019, the Day of Korean Culture in Russia will be held as part of the VI International Film Festival “Zero Plus”. The key point of the Day was the opening of the Eurasian Film Festival Association (EFFA - Eurasia Film Festival Association), whose co-founders were the director of the film festival “Zero Plus”, producer, member of the Public Chamber of the Tyumen region Nikolay Dunn and chairman of the Korean film festival GUKIFF Han Ki Kim.
“By uniting children's film festivals to the Association, we deliberately go to uniting cultures and peoples through such art as cinema,” Nikolai Dunn said.
At the end of the visit of the delegation of the Tyumen region, the team of the film festival “Zero Plus”, together with GUKIFF and the Kurog Administration, organized a street performance of the ensemble “Vatalinka”, which was seen by about 300 residents of Seoul.
